This
event is typically a student’s final visit to campus prior
to moving in for classes. Our four summer registration days for 2013 are
June 7th, 8th, and July 11th, and 12th. New students enrolling
this fall are required to attend one of these dates. This is not “orientation.” That is a different event that begins about one week prior to classes
actually starting in the fall. Quite different, summer registration
includes registering for classes as well as providing some guidance
for students and families on information needed by Morningside
College before a student enrolls in the fall. These events are
very important. A maximum of 100 students attend each registration
day. Therefore, when a student receives the registration invitation,
it is important that a decision on a date is made as soon as possible.
Invitations begin in late April and are sent out in the order in which
we receive enrollment deposits.
Students who are unable to attend a registration
date must contact their admissions counselor. Registration may
take place over the phone only after the July 12th date is complete.
Therefore, class options may be a challenge at that time.
At registration, each student will...
Participate in an advising session with a Morningside
faculty mentor to choose fall semester classes.
Attend a group session dedicated to understanding
financial aid including loans, grants, payment plans, and
any other
necessary paperwork. Individual appointments can be made upon arrival.
Complete all housing forms.
Complete paperwork for on-campus
work study positions.
Consider and confirm a meal plan.
Have a student ID picture taken.
Learn about privacy obligations in relation to releasing
student information.
Provide evidence of insurance
coverage while at Morningside. Bring
current insurance card with you.
Discuss required immunization
records.
Eat lunch with fellow freshmen and Morningside's
own Orientation Student Assistants (OSAs).
