Morningside College announces summer graduates

Morningside College conferred 23 bachelor’s degrees and 75 Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degrees in August.

Nicholas Anderson, Courtney Brown, Thomas Chilton, Hamza Farah and Elizabeth Lippke of Sioux City received Bachelor of Arts degrees. Others who received Bachelor of Arts degrees were Darcy Christensen of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Kirstin Hehnke of Boone, Iowa; Drake Johnson of Brentwood, Tenn.; Madalyn Mardesen of Elliott, Iowa; Ana Miranda of South Sioux City, Neb.; Ryan Tellinghuisen of Bradenton, Fla.; and Bryce Williamson of Ruthven, Iowa.

Samuel Doerr and Corey Parry of Sioux City received Bachelor of Science degrees. Others who received Bachelor of Science degrees were Balazs Gerencser of Totszerdahely, Hungary; Jamie Hansmann of Boyden, Iowa; Kelsey Krieg of Kingsley, Iowa; Andrea Miller of Le Mars, Iowa; and Cynthia Schaaf of Omaha, Neb.

Emily Gutz of Storm Lake, Iowa, received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. John Calahan of Lincoln, Neb., received a Bachelor of Music Education degree, and Autumn Knipp of Elberon, Iowa, received a Bachelor of Music degree.

Mardesen graduated summa cum laude (with highest honor) for having a cumulative grade point average of 3.81 or higher. Doerr and Gutz graduated magna cum laude (with great honor) for having cumulative GPAs of 3.66 or higher.  Hansmann, Krieg and Schaaf graduated cum laude (with honor) for having cumulative GPAs of 3.5 or higher.
