Teams from four high schools are moving on to semifinal competition in the Morningside College Quiz Bowl Tournament. The teams are from North High School in Sioux City; Unity Christian High School in Orange City, Iowa; Sergeant Bluff-Luton High School in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; and Norfolk High School in Norfolk, Neb.
The four Quiz Bowl teams will take part in two semifinal contests that are scheduled to air on KCAU-TV in Sioux City at 11 a.m. on May 8 and 15. The contest pairings and broadcast dates are: Sioux City North and Unity Christian – May 8; Norfolk and Sergeant Bluff-Luton – May 15. The two winning teams from the semifinal contests will compete in the championship game that will be broadcast May 22 at 11 a.m. on KCAU-TV.
Sixteen high school teams won their way to the televised competition after taking part in a preliminary Quiz Bowl tournament Jan. 15 on the Morningside College campus. The preliminary tournament involved teams from 22 high schools.
All of the broadcast Quiz Bowl contests are taped in television studios on the Morningside College campus.
