Morningside College Mass Communication Department creates advisory board

The Morningside College Mass Communication Department recently created an advisory board to get input from area media professionals to help the department better prepare students for careers in mass communication.

“We hope that by gathering information from the advisory board, we’ll be able to make sure our program is doing the best it possibly can in preparing students for careers in the media,” said Dave Madsen, instructor and chair of the mass communication department at Morningside.

Representatives on the Mass Communication Advisory Board include Bridget Breen, director of news and operations at KTIV-TV; Dennis Bullock, general manager at Powell Broadcasting; Amy Buster, lifestyle/features editor at Dakota County Star, South Sioux City; Christie Finnegan, director of marketing & publications at St. Luke’s Health System; Gretchen Gondek, general manager at KWIT-KOJI Radio; Mary Ann Johnson, vice president & general manager at KCAU-TV; Ron Peterson, publisher at the Sioux City Journal; Kelli Rassmussen, market manager at Clear Channel Communications; Steve Scollard, vice president and general manager at KMEG/KPTH-TV; and Adrian Wisner, general sales manager at KTIV-TV.
