Clavichordist Marcia Hadjimarkos will present a guest recital at Morningside College at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, in the Helen Levitt Art Gallery in Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Ave. It is free and open to the public.

The recital will include pieces by C.P.E. Bach, Haydn, Beethoven and several contemporary composers. The instrument that will be used for this performance was built at Morningside College by faculty member James March and his students during a May Term course in 2013.

An Oregon native, Hadjimarkos received degrees in piano performance and French literature from the University of Iowa. After graduating she studied with Richard Burnett at the Finchcocks Collection in England, and with Jos Van Immerseel at the Paris Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique. She now lives in Burgundy, France, and performs on a wide range of early keyboards including the earliest Florentine piano, the clavichord, and grand and square pianos of the Pre-classical, Classical and Romantic eras.
