Pam Mickelson, professor and chair of business administration at Morningside College, recently presented and judged at the Marketing Management Association Fall Educators’ Conference in San Antonio, Texas.

Mickelson was a judge for the AxcessCapon Innovative Teaching Award for new marketing education ideas. She also presented and chaired the session “Effective Client-Based Learning Projects,” in which she discussed how using the right kinds of clients has helped her students complete class marketing projects successfully. Clients are local and regional businesses, small to mid size firms, non-profit or for profit organizations. She uses three clients per semester. Examples of past clients include Palmer Candy, First State Bank of Hawarden, and the Sioux City Environmental Advisory Board.

Mickelson joined Morningside in 1988. At Morningside, she is also the director of the Center for Entrepreneurship Education. She received her doctorate from Oklahoma State University. Mickelson has previously won the Marketing Management Association Meritorious Teaching Award.
