Mark Elovitz, an internationally recognized world affairs commentator and lecturer, will speak at Morningside College at 7:30 p.m. April 2 in the Yockey Family Community Room in the Olsen Student Center.

Mark Elovitz, an internationally recognized world affairs commentator and lecturer, will speak at Morningside College at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, in the Yockey Family Community Room in the Olsen Student Center, 3609 Peters Ave.

The title of his lecture is “Naked Realities Behind Global Hot Spots.” The event is free and open to the public.

Elovitz served in Washington during the Carter and Reagan administrations as a government adviser on public policy. He has also testified before the U.S. Congress’ Committee on Foreign Affairs. In addition to working as a government adviser, he has worked as a professor of law, a litigator and a U.S. Air Force officer. As an Air Force officer, he was liaison to military stationed throughout Europe, England and Africa. He has lived in the Mideast and Europe.

As a Phi Beta Kappa scholar, Elovitz has earned four post-graduate degrees. He has published hundreds of articles on a wide range of subjects, including legal liability, biomedical ethics, American public policy, world affairs and international geopolitics. He has also served as a commentator and anchor for the weekly World Affairs TV show. Elovitz is currently director of the Centre for Strategic Geopolitics, a world affairs think tank.
