Amanda Haverhals, DNP, RN, CNL is an Associate Professor and the Head of the BSN Program for the Nylen School of Nursing at Morningside University. She received her bachelor of science in nursing degree from Morningside College; her master of science in nursing degree with an emphasis in education from Grand Canyon University and her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Morningside University. Dr. Haverhals teaches in the traditional undergraduate program along with serving as the coordinator and teaching in the online degree completion program. Dr. Haverhals serves as one of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) peer reviewers for submissions of the Essentials Tool Kit Best Practice Teaching Strategies along with serving as the Essentials Champion for Morningside. In 2024, she was selected to participate in the AACN’s Elevating Leaders in Academic Nursing Program. In 2021, she was awarded a Summer Undergraduate Research Project grant, she has presented her doctoral work at the Avera Research and Evidence-Based Practice Conference and AACN’s Transform Conference. Her doctoral work, “An Educational Intervention to Enhance the Performance of Peer Feedback”, was published in the Journal of Nursing Administration. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau and the Iowa League of Nurses.
