Coordinator of Collaborative Research

Morningside University is looking to fill the full-time position of Coordinator of Collaborative Research. This individual will work directly with Morningside faculty, staff and institutional leadership to seek, establish, and manage research partnerships between Morningside and other agencies/institutions, assists in the preparation of collaborative grant proposals, and participates in training sessions workshops. This individual reports to the Director of Sponsored Programs.

This position is available as an on-campus position, or as a remote/hybrid position, although on-campus is preferred. The priority deadline for application is February 16, 2025.

Description of duties and responsibilities:

  • Identification and recruitment of potential collaborative partners for Morningside research projects
  • Idea generation with community partners, and identification of potential grant opportunities
  • In conjunction with the Director of Sponsored Programs, provision of pre-award services for collaborative partners (proposal preparation, review, submission, etc.)
  • Training of current and potential collaborative partners on grant-seeking processes
  • With the other members of the Office of Sponsored Programs, participation in the development and implementation of grant-seeking training workshops for Morningside faculty and staff.
  • Act as liaison between Morningside and collaborative partners

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (required)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (required)
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills (required)
  • Ability to think creatively, critically, and collaboratively in idea generation and development (required)
  • Possess the ability to read and interpret documents (required)
  • Dependable to follow through with assigned work within specified deadlines (required)
  • Prior experience in research administration and/or grant management (preferred)
  • Knowledge of federal sponsors; programs, governance, and electronic research administration systems (preferred)
  • Prior experience in establishing and/or managing collaborative relationships between entities (preferred)
