Sponsored Programs Coordinator
Morningside University is seeking a Sponsored Programs Coordinator who works directly with faculty, staff, and institutional leadership to provide post-award management and oversight of grant-funded projects, participates in faculty training sessions conducted by the Office of Sponsored Programs, and assists the Director of Sponsored Programs in operation of the Office of Sponsored Programs. This individual reports to the Director of Sponsored Programs.
This full-time position is available as an on-campus position, or as a remote/hybrid position, although on-campus is preferred. The priority deadline for application is February 16, 2025.
Description of duties and responsibilities:
- Monitors budgets of grant-funded projects, and approves financial transactions involving grant budgets
- Management of subawards
- Collaboration with the Business Office to manage post-award actions/processes with funding agencies
- Setup and oversight of projects in agency portals and within internal offices
- Ensure compliance with agency regulations and internal policies
- Assist the Director of Sponsored Programs in development of policies related to grants
- Data collection, reporting, and analysis
- With the other members of the Office of Sponsored Programs, participates in the development and implementation of grant-seeking training workshops for faculty, staff, and potential research partners
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (required)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (required)
- Strong interpersonal skills (required)
- Excellent organizational and financial management skills (required)
- Proficiency with computer applications (word processing, databases, spreadsheets) (required)
- Possess the ability to read and interpret documents (required)
- Dependable to follow through with assigned work within specified deadlines (required)
- Prior experience in research administration and/or grant management (preferred)
- Knowledge of federal sponsors; programs, governance, and electronic research administration systems (preferred)
