Preparing Teachers for Success
The Sharon Walker School of Education at Morningside College emphasizes the development of “effective educators.” The program is fully approved by the Iowa Department of Education and has been recognized as a top college for teacher education. There are three different majors to choose from, including elementary education, secondary teaching and special education. An education degree from Morningside will not only train you for success, but will help you become a caring professional in the field.
Plan a Visit to Meet Your Professors
Your professors have real-world experience and fully prepare students to teach in the outside community. They can’t wait to meet with you during your campus visit to talk about what to expect while earning your teaching degree at Morningside.
Field Experience In the First Year
Morningside College education students have the opportunity to find out if the classroom setting is right fit early on. Field experiences begin the very first year in the program and the Sioux City area allows student-teaching placements to be in nearby urban, suburban and rural schools.
