CHARTING A PATH TO PUBLIC ACCOUNTING
The public accounting major is designed to prepare you for a career as a public accountant. The program includes a well-rounded curriculum, where you will participate in immersive experiences to gain professional training and experience. The skills you develop through the public accounting major will provide much of the knowledge needed to prepare you to sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam.

The major was designed with consideration for CPA requirements in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Minnesota.

REQUIRED
A study of federal taxes, with emphasis on individual income taxes.
REQUIRED
A study of different funds us in accounting for governmental entities and not-for-profit entities such as educational institutions, hospitals, and voluntary health and welfare organizations.
REQUIRED
This course provides a study of the most common types of occupational fraud and financial statement reporting fraud. It includes an overview of behavioral research associated with persons who commit fraud, the methodology of fraud examination and the implementation of prevention strategies.
REQUIRED
A CPA Exam Review Course covering content tested on the FAR section of the exam and AUD section of the exam.
