The leadership and human relations minor is designed to equip students with the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes to excel as leaders, collaborators, and communicators in diverse settings. This minor will help you develop team building skills as well as enhance your ability to problem solve and think critically.

Discover and enhance strategies for building communications skills in small group settings.
ELECTIVE
Satisfies the Integrated Experience requirement. Students enrolled in this course will have the opportunity to gain an unusual level of self-awareness as the course explores a wide array of leadership theories and applications. Students will then use their new knowledge of leadership as a foundation for the study of ethics as the subject relates to contemporary business, social and civic responsibility. This course will have a research paper which will qualify for the writing endorsement for the department. This course will also have a service learning component based on needs assessment and delivery of support to at-risk populations in the Siouxland area.
ELECTIVE
Students will research topics such as water management, renewable energy, trade issues, and corporate versus individual food production practices. The course will emphasize information and the need to analysis of questions and discovery of problems and solutions based on research from both humanities and non-humanities perspectives. Course culminates with a grant proposal.
