State Authorization

Morningside College must comply with any state regulations that apply to online education before the College can allow students to participate in educational activities within that state.  These regulations determine whether Morningside College can accept out of state students wishing to enroll in online courses or programs.   The regulated educational activities vary from state to state but include offering 100% online courses and programs that include activities such as internships, externships, co-ops, field experiences, student teaching, and practicum placements. 

Morningside College participates in the National Council of State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (NC-SARA).  Iowa became an NC-SARA state in June 2015. Morningside College became an NC-SARA institution in February 2016.  This allows students from NC-SARA member states to enroll in:

Online degree programs, certificates, and endorsements that include internships, externships, co-ops, field experiences, student teaching, and practicum placements.
