Big band to perform at Morningside College as part of fine arts series
The Reggie Schive Big Band will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, in Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Ave, as part of Morningside College’s Betty Ling Tsang Fine Arts Series.The concert is free and open to the public.

The Reggie Schive Big Band was formed in July of 2010. It is named after Iowa jazz legend and former Sioux City West High School band director Reggie Schive. Schive earned a number of awards for his outstanding teaching and was elected into the Jazz Educators of Iowa Hall of Fame. He was instrumental in starting the Tallcorn Jazz Festival at the University of Northern Iowa and the Great Plains Jazz Festival at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
The band is made up of area band directors, local musicians, and Morningside College faculty members and alumni.
