Morningside opened the 2015-16 bowling season by competing in the Sandhills Collegiate Classic in Lincoln, Neb.

Morningside finished 11th in the women’s division and 13th in the men’s division at the Sandhills Collegiate Classic bowling tournament held Saturday and Sunday in Lincoln, Neb.
Nicole Thill was the Mustangs’ top individual finisher in the women’s competition. She finished 33rd out of a field of 145 bowlers with a score of 1002 pins. Haley Mathes knocked down 983 pins to finish 36th and Katie Person was 43rd with a 961.
The top performer for the Morningside men’s team was Austin Naylor, who knocked down 1111 pins to finish 33rd in a field of 187 bowlers. Alex Eukovich finished 49th with a score of 1046.
Naylor had the Mustangs’ top individual game score of the tournament with a 222.
The Mustangs will compete in the Jayhawk Collegiate Challenge on Nov. 7-8 in Lawrence, Kan.
