Stacie Hays, career counselor at Morningside College, recently gave two presentations at the 2016 Career Professionals of Iowa Conference at Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa.

Hays gave one presentation on “Leveraging Community Resources to Expand Programming” with Josh Cobbs from Briar Cliff University. This session focused on a recent collaboration with the Sioux City Growth Organization in developing GO University, an initiative that connects young professionals to college students in order to mentor them on life-after-college topics.

She also gave a presentation on “Collaboration: Combining Resources & Efforts to Develop Opportunities” with Bill Minnick from Northwestern College. This session focused on how career services offices can collaborate with other colleges for job recruiting events, highlighting the Fall Interview Day at Morningside College last November. It also looked at how collaboration within a college campus can support students.

Hays has worked in career services at Morningside College since 2005. She is president of the Iowa College Recruiting Network, a cooperative recruiting service that connects employers with nearly 50,000 students enrolled at Iowa’s 25 private colleges.
