Herman Boone, the high school football coach who inspired the blockbuster film “Remember the Titans,” will speak at Morningside College at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25, in Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Ave.

Boone’s presentation, titled “Lessons in Diversity,” will draw on his experience at T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria, Va. The event is free and open to the public. Tickets will be available to the general public one hour before the event in the Eppley box office.

Boone, played by actor Denzel Washington in the 2000 movie, will speak about the tensions he experienced as a coach of a newly integrated school and how as a team, the Titans were able to overcome the obstacles of diversity and win a state championship.
