SIOUX CITY, IOWA (Morningside College) – A Drum Corps International competition will be held on the field of Morningside College’s Elwood Olsen Stadium on Tuesday, July 9, at 7:30 p.m.

Corps participating in the competition include the 10-time Drum Corps International World Champions Cadets from Allentown, Penn.; the Mandarins from Sacramento, Calif.; the Crossmen from San Antonio, Texas; and the Colt Cadets from Dubuque, Iowa.

The event at 3201 Peters Ave in Sioux City is free and open to the public. Gates will open at 6:30 p.m. Unlike previous years, a ticket is NOT required for entrance.

Area youth also have an opportunity to take part in an interactive clinic with the DCI World Champion Cadets. The side-by-side clinic runs from 1-5 p.m. that day. The cost is $20. Individuals entering high school through college are invited to register at morningside.edu/dci2019.

Drum Corps International is the nonprofit governing body for junior drum and bugle corps in the United States and Canada. Junior corps members are 21 or younger. Their appearance at Morningside is part of the Betty Ling Tsang Summer Performance Series coordinated through the Morningside College School of Visual and Performing Art.
