Erin Edlund recently was promoted to vice president for marketing and communication at Morningside College.

She was hired in February 2018 to serve as vice president for marketing, and she took over communication responsibilities after Rick Wollman retired in May of this year.

Edlund has responsibility for overall communications, research-based messaging, digital platforms, marketing and branding activity for Morningside. She serves as chief marketing and communications officer and is a member of the senior leadership team.

Edlund previously served for 13 years as a marketing professional within Minnesota State, the fourth-largest higher education system in the country. She most recently worked as director of marketing for the Minnesota State system office in St. Paul, overseeing implementation of the new Minnesota State brand and launching several systemwide marketing campaigns to support Minnesota State’s 37 colleges and universities. While part of the Minnesota State system, Edlund also spent 11 years leading all external relations for Dakota County Technical College in Rosemount, Minn., and three of those years as a shared administrator with Inver Hills Community College in Inver Grove Heights, Minn. During that time, Edlund was named the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) National Communicator of the Year, and she and her teams earned national and regional accolades for their marketing and communication work.

Edlund is a native of Burt, Iowa, and a graduate of Algona High School in Algona, Iowa. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, and her master’s degree from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul.

Edlund and her husband, Jeff, reside in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, with their three children.
