The Morningside College esports team recently picked up a 2-0 win over Tiffin University in the sixth and final match of pool play for the League of Legends season, but unfortunately did not advance into bracket competition.

The Mustangs finished 3-3 in League of Legends in their inaugural season. Other victories for the team came against Louisville and Augustana.

The esports team on campus ended the academic year with a 7-6 overall record in competitive tournaments after the Overwatch squad went 4-3, including a trip to the NACE Quarterfinals.

While this year consisted of the Morningside esports team competing in Overwatch and League of Legends, head coach Dean Stevens is open to a bigger variety of games for his teams to take on other colleges in. Students on campus have already began practicing in other games including Rocket League, Heroes of the Storm and Counter Strike: Global Offensive.
