Marilyn Eastman, associate professor of marketing at Morningside College, recently attended the Digital Marketing Boot Camp in Chicago to prepare to teach a course on digital and social media marketing this spring.

The Digital Marketing Boot Camp was offered by a digital textbook manufacturer called StuKent. Eastman will be using StuKent’s textbook and simulation in her class. Five different presenters discussed the different approaches to teaching digital marketing.

“This is a very complex and quickly changing area of the marketing field,” Eastman said. “In addition, this will be a new course for me, so I wanted to learn about the best possible teaching approach to this class from both the experts and my colleagues at other institutions in the U.S.”

Eastman previously taught at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City. Earlier in her career, she worked for Procter & Gamble as an assistant brand manager and a marketing research manager. She has an M.B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., and will receive her doctorate in December 2015.
