Men’s soccer gets 5-0 homecoming victory over Dordt, moving the team to 9-4-1 overall and 7-1 in GPAC play.

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Sophomore forward Austin Lingle (Sioux City, Iowa) notched his fourth multiple goal effort of the season, aiding in keeping Morningside College just a half-game behind Great Plains Athletic Conference leading Hastings College Saturday, Oct. 13.

Lingle, reaching the double-digit goal mark for the season, depositing successful shot on goal tries in the 19th and 20th minutes to enable the home side to jump out to a quick advantage on its Elwood Olsen Stadium field. Senior forward Filipe Wolff (Sao Paulo, Brazil); senior forward Murat Turan (Bergisch Gladbach, Germany); and senior midfielder Josh Schanda (Villingen, Germany) each added a goal to wrap up a successful Homecoming Night 2018 5-0 victory.

Freshman Tobias Sadler (Augsburg, Germany) and senior Tim Erdmann (Hamburg, Germany) combined for a clean sheet. The goalkeeping duo each claimed a save.

MC (9-4-1 overall, 7-1 GPAC) faces off against league rival Northwestern College Saturday, Oct. 20. Match time is 7:15 p.m. at NWC’s Soccer Complex.
