Maria Cristina “MC” Gonzalez Noguera, former communications director for First Lady Michelle Obama, will give a lecture at Morningside College at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, in the UPS Auditorium in Lincoln Center.

Maria Cristina “MC” Gonzalez Noguera, former communications director for First Lady Michelle Obama, will give a lecture at Morningside College at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, in the UPS Auditorium in Lincoln Center, 3627 Peters Ave.

There will be a meet-and-greet in the lobby 30 minutes prior to the lecture. Both the meet-and-greet and the lecture are free and open to the public.

The lecture, “A Fireside Chat with Maria Cristina ‘MC’ Gonzalez Noguera: From Estée Lauder to the White House,” will focus on Gonzalez Noguera’s experiences with The Estée Lauder Companies and the former first lady.

Gonzalez Noguera served as special assistant to the president and communications director to the first lady from June 2013 to May 2015. In that role, she led ​a team charged with developing and communicating the first lady’s initiatives, which included Let’s Move, Joining Forces, Reach Higher, and Let Girls Learn.

In 2016, Gonzalez Noguera ​returned to The Estée Lauder Companies to serve as senior vice president, global public affairs. In this role, she directs engagement with governments in which the company operates or markets products and is responsible for the company’s reputation among policy and community leaders.

Gonzalez Noguera was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and has a Bachelor of Arts in international relations from Tufts University in Medford, Mass. She serves on boards for the Jonathan M. Tisch College of Civic Life at Tufts University, the National Council of La Raza, and the Young Women’s Leadership Network. She lives in New York City with her husband and son.
