Four Mustangs harriers receive academic honor
Four Morningside College athletes were named 2014 Daktronics-NAIA Cross Country Scholar-Athletes.
Four members of Morningside College’s men’s and women’s cross country teams were named 2014 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
They are:
Eric Koithan, a senior from Mapleton, Iowa, who has a 3.82 cumulative grade point average (GPA) with a major in elementary education.
Elizabeth Kube, a junior from Crofton, Neb., who has a 3.93 cumulative GPA with a major in business administration.
Tasha Lechtenberg, a junior from O’Neill, Neb., who has a 3.78 cumulative GPA with majors in English teaching and special education.
Jay Welp, a senior from Conrad, Iowa, who has a 3.69 cumulative GPA with a major in science teaching.
Koithan and Welp also received the Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete award as juniors.
Student-athletes must be of at least junior academic status and have a minimum GPA of 3.50 in order to be eligible for Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors.
