A representative from Google will conduct a free workshop on Google Maps from 5 to 7 p.m. on Feb. 13 in the Lincoln Center, 3627 Peters Ave., on the Morningside College campus.
The workshop will give organizations and business owners step-by-step instructions on how to use Google Maps for online promotion and allow potential consumers to find accurate directions. Google Maps is a web mapping service developed by Google that offers satellite imagery, street maps, 360° panoramic views of streets and route planning.
Pre-registration is required for the workshop by emailing millerta@morningside.edu. Participants should bring a laptop computer or mobile device with them to the workshop. For additional information, contact Dr. Pamela L. Mickelson in the Morningside College Department of Business Administration at 712-274-5473 or mickelson@morningside.edu.
The workshop is part of “Entrepalooza,” an eight-day celebration of entrepreneurial spirit in the Sioux City area. This year’s “Entrepalooza” takes place Feb. 12-22. Sponsors for the Google Maps workshop include Morningside College’s Student Entrepreneurship Group, Jimmy John’s, America’s SBDC Iowa, and Iowa’s West Coast Initiative.
