Inlay named to All-GPAC Compeitive Cheer Team
Kayla Inlay was named to the All-GPAC Competitive Cheer Team and Alisha Steckler was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Competitive Dance Co-Coach of the Year.
Kayla Inlay, a junior from Sioux City, Iowa, was named to the 2018 All-Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Competitive Cheer Team.
Morningside competitive cheer & dance head coach Alisha Steckler was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Competitive Dance Co-Coach of the Year along with Hastings College head coach Nikki Kimura.
Aside from being named to the All-GPAC Cheer Team, Inlay received All-GPAC honorable mention recognition in competitive dance. Morningside’s Jenna Winkler, a sophomore from Papillion, Neb., and Alison Wright, a sophomore from Rock Rapids, Iowa, also received All-GPAC honorable mention recognition in competitive dance.
To be selected to the All-GPAC Competitive Cheer & Dance Teams, the student-athletes performed a set of skills as outlined by the NAIA Cheer and Dance Coaches’ Handbook. A minimum score on these skills (as judged) was required for selection to the teams.
