Morningside College has received a $10,000 grant from the Iowa Arts Council to support the college’s February production of “The Pirates of Penzance.”

Morningside College has received a $10,000 grant from the Iowa Arts Council to support the college’s February production of “The Pirates of Penzance.”

Morningside College’s Betty Ling Tsang Fine Arts Series will present a fully staged production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s comic opera Feb. 26 through 28 in Eppley Auditorium. The performances are free and open to the public.

“The Iowa Arts Council grant supports expansion of the Betty Ling Tsang Fine Arts Series and helps continue our mission to provide a wide range of free, quality music and theatre performances to the community and college,” said Randy Peters, artistic director for the fine arts series.

Additional funding for “The Pirates of Penzance” is provided by Morningside College, the Siouxland Community Foundation, Missouri River Historical Development and the Gilchrist Foundation.

The Iowa Arts Council is a division of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts.
