League of Legends esports team claims first victory
Morningside rallied after dropping the first game to take down Augustana 2-1.
In the first season of competition on campus, the Morningside College League of Legends esports team defeated Augustana 2-1 in the third round of Battlfy’s College League of Legends season.
Augustana won the first game in the best-of-three series but the Mustangs (1-2) stormed back to push Augustana to 0-3 on the year.
Morningside competes in the North Conference which consists of colleges and universities of all sizes from the US states & territories as well as the Canadian provinces & territories of Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Manitoba, Nunavut, Yukon and the Northwest Territories.
The Morningside team will compete in three more preliminary contests (each being a best out of three) determined weekly by the team’s record. Morningside dropped matches to Missouri St. and Wheaton in the first two rounds.
