Morningside announces Access to Mside award packages for new, full-time undergraduate students enrolling for the 2024-2025 academic year
Sioux City, Iowa – In response to an ongoing commitment by Dr. Albert Mosley and Morningside University to increase access and opportunity for all students, Morningside University Admissions and Financial Planning offices have announced the rollout of Access to Mside, a streamlined financial aid package available to all individuals enrolling as first-time, full-time undergraduate students for the 2024-2025 academic year.
The award packages have been developed through the generosity of donors who have consistently contributed to Morningside’s annual fund, to Dr. Mosley’s inauguration fundraising campaign to support First-Gen college students, and to other scholarship initiatives. Through Access to Mside, all first-time, full-time undergraduate students for 2024-2025 will be guaranteed a minimum award package of $24,000 for on-campus residential students and $18,000 for off-campus commuter students. These packages include all grants and scholarships available through Morningside, as well as federal and state assistance, but are not available for transfer or online students.
Students who are Pell-eligible residents of the state of Iowa; South Sioux City, Neb.; or Schuyler, Neb. and are enrolling at Morningside as first-time, full-time undergraduate students for 2024-2025 will be guaranteed a minimum grant and/or scholarship award package of $37,000 for on-campus residential students and $31,000 for off-campus commuter students. These packages include all grants and scholarships available through Morningside, as well as federal and state assistance, but are not available for transfer or online students.
“The Access to Mside initiative powerfully demonstrates Morningside’s unwavering commitment to making our education attainable for all students and their families. By aligning the cost of tuition with rates comparable to public colleges and universities, we are striving to make a Morningside education not just a dream, but a reality for many. Without a doubt, a college education is one of the most reliable routes to prosperity. We firmly believe that the Access to Mside program will enable students and families to unlock immense value through a first-rate education at Morningside,” said Dr. Albert Mosley.
Morningside Associate Vice President for Institutional Research and Director of Student Financial Planning Karen Wiese emphasized that while the straightforward baseline awards that the Access to Mside program offers are meant to give families a better sense of what the cost of tuition at Morningside will be, it will also be important for families to visit Morningside and have conversations with staff to gain a complete understanding of the possibilities available to them.
“As always, the only way we can determine a full financial award package for a student is to have them apply for admission, complete the FAFSA, and visit campus for a conversation. Those factors often result in us being able to provide our best financial aid package and assist families with developing a plan to pay for college,” shared Wiese.
Students and families interested in learning more about the Access to Mside program are encouraged to contact Morningside University’s Admissions Office or Office for Financial Planning. Additionally, all high school seniors who schedule a campus visit between now and Dec. 15 will be eligible for a free Nike backpack. Sign up for a visit here.
