Morningside College recently announced new appointments for four staff members.

Receiving new appointments are Karen Dreessen as advancement services manager; Karen Gagnon as associate vice president of institutional research and director of financial planning; Jay Malin as director of physical plant; and Caity Nowosatka-Sander as work study coordinator/student financial aid coordinator.

Dreessen is responsible for database management, advancement reporting, prospect management, gift recording, data integrity and data security. She develops and implements data and gift-entry procedures, produces reports and mailing lists and provides database training. She has worked in the advancement office at Morningside since 2006.

Gagnon directs the institutional research efforts of the college and continues to serve as director of student financial planning, where she is responsible for applying for federal and state programs and for the administration of all institutional, private, state and federal aid programs. She has worked for the college since 1988, serving for almost 20 years as director of student financial planning.

Malin oversees all functions of the physical plant department, which includes building maintenance, grounds and custodial services. He previously was the head groundskeeper on campus. He has worked for the college since 2007.

Nowosatka-Sander works in student financial planning. She supervises the federal work-study program, institutional annual and endowed scholarships, and coordinates all private scholarship resources. She has worked in the student financial planning office since 2016.
