Morningside College recently announced two new employees. The new employees are Michelle Laughlin, associate dean for online learning, and Mark O’Connell, assistant director of the annual scholarship fund.

Morningside College recently announced two new employees.

The new employees are Michelle Laughlin, associate dean for online learning, and Mark O’Connell, assistant director of the annual scholarship fund.

Laughlin serves as director of the new online organizational management program for nontraditional undergraduate students, oversees the center for online learning, and works with the provost to develop policies and procedures for online courses at the undergraduate level. Laughlin previously was a higher education consultant in Vermillion, S.D. She has a doctorate from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion.

O’Connell develops and implements strategies for securing financial support for the college from alumni, parents, friends and businesses. He helps coordinate all of the fundraising campaigns for the annual scholarship fund, and he runs the telethon. O’Connell previously was operations manager at Alorica in North Sioux City, S.D. He has a bachelor’s degree from Morningside College.
