The Morningside College Board of Directors elected seven members to new terms during the board’s Oct. 1 meeting on the college’s campus.

Board members elected to new terms include Michael L. Bennett of Jefferson, S.D., president of Albaton Enterprises, LLC in Sioux City; the Rev. Dr. Thomas Carver of Storm Lake, Iowa, superintendent of the Northwest District of the Iowa Conference, United Methodist Church; Alec DeVries of Sioux City, Morningside College Student Government president; Bishop Laurie Haller of Des Moines, Iowa, bishop of the Iowa Conference, United Methodist Church; Brian A. Johnson of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, a 1983 Morningside graduate and financial advisor at Security National Bank; Martin B. Palmer of Sioux City, president of Palmer Candy Company; and Dr. Leslie A. Werden of Dakota Dunes, S.D., associate professor of writing and rhetoric at Morningside College

Curtis N. White of Noblesville, Ind., a 1976 Morningside graduate, continues to serve as chair of the Morningside College Board of Directors. Cynthia C. Moser of Sioux City, an attorney and partner with the Heidman Law Firm, serves as board secretary.

Members named to chair board committees include Dr. Esther M. Mackintosh, a 1969 Morningside graduate and president of the Federation of State Humanities Councils in Arlington, Va., Student Life and Learning Committee; Craig I. Struve, a 1970 Morningside graduate and agribusiness owner from Calumet, Iowa., Finance/Facilities and Investment Committee; Richard A. Waller of Dakota Dunes, S.D., External Relations Committee; and Dr. Stephen E. Davis of Hideaway, Texas, Graduate Programs Committee.
