Morningside College is one of the nation’s fastest growing private baccalaureate institutions, according to The Chronicle of Higher Education’s annual “Almanac of Higher Education.”

Morningside is ranked seventh on a list of the nation’s 20 fastest growing private nonprofit colleges, based on a comparison of student enrollment growth from 2004 to 2014. During that period, Morningside’s total enrollment grew from 1,204 students in the fall of 2004 to 2,823 students in the fall of 2014, an increase of more than 134 percent.

“One of the factors driving our enrollment growth over the past 10 years is the quality of our undergraduate and graduate programs,” said Morningside College President John Reynders. “The generosity of our donors also has enabled us to make significant campus improvements that enhance the student experience here.”

To prepare its “Fastest-Growing Colleges, 2004-14” list, The Chronicle of Higher Education used U.S. Department of Education data on the fall head count of full- and part-time undergraduate and graduate students.

Based in Washington, D.C., The Chronicle of Higher Education is a leading source of news and information for college and university faculty members and administrators. The Chronicle of Higher Education also publishes the annual “Almanac of Higher Education,” which reports and compares data on U.S. colleges and universities.
