Morningside College music professor performs with Santa Fe Opera

Suzanne Hendrix-Case, assistant professor of music at Morningside College, recently performed with the Santa Fe Opera in Santa Fe, N.M.
Hendrix-Case performed the role of Zulma in Rossini’s “L’Italiana in Algeri,” and she covered the role of the Old Lady in Bernstein’s “Candide.”
She was an apprentice with the company in both 2011 and 2012, returning for the first time this year as a principal artist. The apprentice program has an acceptance rate of 3.5 percent, with only a few apprentices returning at later points in their careers.
Hendrix-Case has performed extensively as an opera singer in locations ranging from San Francisco, Calif., to Vienna, Austria. She holds a doctorate in vocal performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory.
