Shannon De Clute, associate professor of psychology at Morningside College, recently joined the membership committee of the Iowa Psychological Association.

The Iowa Psychological Association encourages and supports psychology students, educators and practitioners in their efforts to improve their skills, conduct research, and educate their communities about the power of psychology to improve lives.

The association’s membership committee is responsible for promoting new membership and retaining members. De Clute’s first duty on the committee was to complete a membership survey of usage and satisfaction, which she reported to the executive council during their annual fall conference in October.

De Clute joined the faculty at Morningside College in 2012 after serving as an instructor at the University of Akron in Ohio. In addition, she has previous clinical experience and has assisted a forensic psychologist with the evaluation of clients. De Clute has a doctorate from the University of Akron.
