The Morningside College circle of Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) recently received a Presidential Circle of Excellence Award at the ODK national convention, and it received a $500 grant for its new ODK Speaker Series.

ODK is a leadership honor society that recognizes and encourages superior scholarship, leadership and exemplary character. ODK has about 300 circles – or chapters – nationally. Only 15 circles in the nation were chosen to receive the Presidential Circle of Excellence Award.

Morningside also received a Maurice A. Clay Leadership Development Initiative Grant from the national organization to support its new ODK Speaker Series. Corey Seemiller, author of the book “Generation Z Goes to College,” will kick off the series on April 12.

The ODK circle at Morningside College is in charge of the Into the Streets campuswide service day, a faculty appreciation dinner, a dean’s list recognition reception and the honors convocation.
