Morningside College senior Josh Doering, a business administration major from Hubbard, Iowa, is one of 18 young entrepreneurs from around the country selected to participate in a fellowship program sponsored by Future Founders, a nonprofit entrepreneurship organization based in Chicago.

Doering’s selection as a 2016 fellow came after Future Founders conducted a nationwide application process. The fellowship is a yearlong program designed to accelerate the development of student entrepreneurs. Fellows have access to Future Founders services and programs that include mentoring, entrepreneurial experiences and opportunities to connect with like-minded peers.

The 18 student entrepreneurs selected for the 2016 fellowship come from 13 schools in seven states.

In December, Doering won the $5,000 top prize in the Future Founders’ UPitch competition in Chicago, beating out 23 other student startup founders from around the country. Doering has developed and marketed Seed Slide, a device that allows farmers to safely open and unload large seed boxes.
