Four students were recently inducted into the Morningside College chapter of Sigma Delta Pi: National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society.
The students were inducted during the national honor society’s centennial year. There are nearly 900 chapters of Sigma Delta Pi at colleges and universities in the United States.
Graduating seniors inducted into the honor society were Michael Yeradi of Wright, Wyo.; Tyler Paulson of Le Mars, Iowa; Juan Pablo Jochems Zapata of Ugchelen, Netherlands; and Rebecca Hanson of Harlan, Iowa.
Inductees had to meet a high academic standard. Honor society bylaws also stipulate that members “show genuine interest in things Hispanic and be of good moral character.”
Gail Ament, professor of Spanish, is the faculty sponsor for the Morningside College chapter of Sigma Delta Pi.
