Five Morningside College students will be in the delegation of Sioux City area business leaders, educators and elected officials traveling to Washington, D.C., for the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce’s annual Siouxland/Washington Conference on April 13 and 14.

Five Morningside College students will be in the delegation of Sioux City area business leaders, educators and elected officials traveling to Washington, D.C., for the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce’s annual Siouxland/Washington Conference on April 13 and 14.

Each of the Morningside students is scheduled to meet individually with a member of Congress. The students will discuss higher education priorities with Sen. Charles Grassley of Iowa, Sen. Joni Ernst of South Dakota, Rep. Rodney Blum of Iowa, Rep. David Loebsack of Iowa, and Rep. Jeffrey Fortenberry of Nebraska.

The Morningside students are Kara Bentz of Humboldt, Iowa; Josh Doering of Hubbard, Iowa; Michaela Goergen of Alton, Iowa; Stephen Huber of Canby, Minn.; and Garrett Thomas of Kansas City, Mo. Molly Williams, professor of business administration, is traveling to Washington with the Morningside students.

This is the second year in a row that a group of Morningside students has joined the chamber’s annual lobbying trip to the nation’s capital.
