Morningside College students to present senior art shows

Morningside College students Emily Knapp and Christina Vázquez will present their senior art shows April 13-19, in Eppley Art Gallery, 3625 Garretson Ave.
The gallery viewing and a 5:30 p.m. reception on April 13 are free and open to the public. The Eppley Art Gallery is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
Knapp will display primarily photographs, oil paintings and graphic design. Vázquez will display mainly graphic design with some studio art. The theme of the show is growth, showing how the two students have developed artistically during their four years at Morningside.
Knapp is a photography major from Sioux City. She is president of the student photo club and vice president of the student art club. She aspires to move to Omaha and get a job where she can use photography in relation to marketing. She eventually wants to open her own portrait studio.
Vázquez is a mass communication and graphic design double major from Clive, Iowa. She is the president of the student art club. She has used graphic design in her internships with the college’s print shop and Dimmitt Fellowship program. She aspires to work in graphic design either at an agency or in-house for a company.
