Morningside College to host high school students for choral festival
Students from area high schools will participate in the annual “Men and Women in Song” choral festival at Morningside College on Thursday, Oct. 27.
Students from area high schools will participate in the annual “Men and Women in Song” choral festival at Morningside College on Thursday, Oct. 27.
The day-long festival will conclude with a 6:30 p.m. concert in Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Ave. The concert will feature performances from the men’s and women’s festival choruses and a combined festival chorus. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door.
The “Men and Women in Song” festival is an annual event focused on the celebration of the unique sounds and music provided by men’s and women’s choirs. Over 200 singers from Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and Minnesota attended this event last fall at Morningside College.
Tim Watson, director of choral activities at Morningside College, is coordinating the festival with Shirley Neugebauer Luebke, an artist faculty member at Morningside.
