The Applied Research Center at Morningside College will host a speed networking event for researchers from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 24, in the Yockey Family Community Room of the Olsen Student Center, 3609 Peters Ave.
Faculty scholars from regional colleges and universities in Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota are invited to attend.
The purpose of the event is to promote collaboration among researchers across disciplines and across campuses. It is an opportunity to find a research match that might otherwise never have occurred. Studies have shown that scholars who collaborate are more prolific and publish in higher-quality journals than scholars who work alone.
Morningside College will offer three awards for research collaborations that stem from this event and successfully result in a publication in a peer-reviewed journal or a paper presented at a conference. The top award will be $1,000.
To learn more about the conference and to register, go online to my.morningside.edu. Under “Campus Offices,” click on “Applied Research Center.” The event is being organized by Dharma Jairam and Kim Christopherson, directors of the Applied Research Center at Morningside College.
