Morningside to present Choral Masterworks concert
Morningside College will present a Choral Masterworks concert at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 26, in Eppley Auditorium.
Morningside College will present a Choral Masterworks concert at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 26, in Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Ave.
The concert will feature “Schicksalslied (Song of Destiny)” by Johannes Brahms and “Song of Democracy” by Howard Hanson, which is based on a poem by Walt Whitman.
Admission is $5 at the door.
The Morningside College Choir, Eclectix Vocal Jazz Ensemble and Siouxland Master Chorale will perform in the concert.
The Morningside College Choir is an auditioned choir of approximately 35 students. The Eclectix Vocal Jazz Ensemble is a smaller student group that performs a mix of jazz, show and pop tunes both a cappella and with a rhythm section. The Siouxland Master Chorale is a community chorus for men and women, including Morningside College students.
The choirs will be directed by Tim Watson, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities at Morningside, and Jean Hickman, assistant professor of music education. Jayne Koch will accompany the Siouxland Master Chorale.
