College to present Christmas at Morningside concert
Morningside College will present its 19th annual Christmas at Morningside concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, in Eppley Auditorium on the Morningside campus. The concert is free and open to the public.
Morningside College will present its 19th annual Christmas at Morningside concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, in Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Ave, on the Morningside campus. The concert is free and open to the public. Doors to Eppley Auditorium open at 6:30 p.m.
This year’s concert, “The Song of Angels,” celebrates the beauty of Christmas by signifying the announcement the angels made of the birth of Christ with new and traditional music performed by vocalists and instrumentalists. The concert will feature Morningside choral and instrumental ensembles.
Tim Watson and Jean Hickman, assistant professors of music, direct the Siouxland Master Chorale, Morningside College Choir, Eclectix Jazz Choir and the Choral Union. Instrumental ensembles that will perform include the Symphonic Wind Ensemble under the direction of Shane Macklin, assistant professor of music and director of bands, and the Morningside Brass Ensemble under the direction of Tony Hutchins, assistant professor of music and director of instrumental jazz.
