Morningside College will present “The Yellow Dress,” a play based on real-life experiences of victims of dating violence and sexual assault, at 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, in Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Ave.

Both performances are free and open to the public. The 6:30 p.m. performance will be tailored to a high school-aged audience, and the 8 p.m. performance will be geared toward college students.

During the play, the main character, portrayed by Boston-based actress Stacy Fischer, describes her relationship, which began as young love but ultimately ends in tragedy. The production focuses on the cycle of dating violence and concludes with an interactive session between the actress, a male facilitator and the audience.

Morningside College received a grant from the Arts Midwest Touring Fund to bring “The Yellow Dress” to the campus and community.

Arts Midwest, a nonprofit organization in Minneapolis, serves audiences, arts organizations and artists throughout a nine-state area that includes Iowa and South Dakota.
