Morningside College will present the children’s musical “Ready…Set…Go!” at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Friday, July 13, and at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 14, in the Buhler Outdoor Performance Center, 3625 Garretson Ave., on the college’s campus.

Morningside College will present the children’s musical “Ready…Set…Go!” at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Friday, July 13, and at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 14, in the Buhler Outdoor Performance Center, 3625 Garretson Ave., on the college’s campus.

Performances are free and open to the public. In the event of rain, performances will move to Klinger-Neal Theatre, 3700 Peters Ave., on the Morningside campus.

“Ready…Set…Go!” combines two of Aesop’s fables, “The Tortoise and the Hare” and “The Ant and the Grasshopper.” It ends with the special message that a true friend will rejoice when another friend wins. The show features audience participation and lots of silly songs and situations to keep even the youngest engaged.  The running time is 45 minutes.

The musical was written by Diana Guhin Wooley, executive director for LAMB Arts Regional Theatre and School. The cast features current or former LAMB students Melody Beaulieu, Josie Kasik, Sophia Kitto, Jacob Licht and Elizabeth Paz.

The final production in the Betty Ling Tsang Summer Performance Series at Morningside College will be the Catalyst Collective Showcase on July 26.
