The Morningside College Music Department will present a choral concert titled “Music to Change Your Life” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, in Eppley Auditorium.

The Morningside College Music Department will present a choral concert titled “Music to Change Your Life” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, in Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Ave.

The Morningside College Choir, Singing Men of Morningside, Bel Canto Women’s Chorus, Eclectix Vocal Jazz Ensemble and Morningside Siouxland Master Chorale will perform arrangements from a wide variety of backgrounds.

Special performances include the world premiere of “Rejoice Now, Heavenly Hosts” composed by David von Kampen and commissioned by Morningside College and a piece titled “Witness” by John Halloran, a Morningside College graduate. Other pieces include “Feelin’ Groovy” by Paul Simon, “Sanctus” by John Leavitt, and “Canticle of Praise” by Rene Clausen.

The Morningside College Choir is an auditioned group of students that frequently performs concerts and tours. The Singing Men of Morningside performs music written for male choirs, and Bel Canto Women’s Chorus performs music written for female choirs. Eclectix Vocal Jazz Ensemble is an auditioned group that performs vocal jazz styles ranging from traditional swing to pop jazz arrangements. The Morningside Siouxland Master Chorale is a community chorus for men and women, including Morningside College students.

Tim Watson and Shirley Luebke will direct the performances. Accompanists will be Jayne Koch and Chrissy Martinez.

Admission is $5 at the door.
