Morningside College will present two honorary degrees in addition to more than 200 undergraduate degrees at its 119th spring commencement exercises at 2 p.m. May 13 on the campus lawn in front of the Hickman-Johnson-Furrow Learning Center. Morningside will award honorary degrees to Debra Humphreys, vice president of strategic engagement at the Lumina Foundation in Indianapolis, Ind., and Thomas J. Rosen, president and chief executive officer of Rosen’s Diversified Inc. in Fairmont, Minn.

Morningside College will present two honorary degrees in addition to more than 200 undergraduate degrees at its 119th spring commencement exercises at 2 p.m. May 13 on the campus lawn in front of the Hickman-Johnson-Furrow Learning Center.

Morningside will award honorary degrees to Debra Humphreys, vice president of strategic engagement at the Lumina Foundation in Indianapolis, Ind., and Thomas J. Rosen, president and chief executive officer of Rosen’s Diversified Inc. in Fairmont, Minn. Humphreys and Rosen also are featured speakers for the commencement ceremony.

Baccalaureate service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. May 13 in Grace United Methodist Church, 1735 Morningside Ave. The Rev. Dr. Bruce D. Forbes, the Arthur L. Bunch professor of religious studies at Morningside, will deliver the baccalaureate sermon.

Baccalaureate and commencement ceremonies are open to the public.

Humphreys is receiving an honorary degree in recognition of her work at the Association of American Colleges and Universities in Washington, D.C., and the Lumina Foundation.

Rosen, a 1970 Morningside graduate, is receiving an honorary degree in recognition of his 16 years of service on the Morningside College Board of Directors and generous financial support for the college.
