Sioux City, IA – Morningside College’s online Master of Arts in Teaching program has been ranked among the top 50 in the United States by Online Schools Report.
Morningside earned the No. 16 spot on the list. The 100% online program currently offers two tracks – Master of Arts in Teaching: Professional Educator and Master of Arts in Teaching: Special Education. The Professional Educator track is designed for all teachers and provides practical experience that can be immediately applied to the classroom, while the Special Education track explores the important role that special educators play in our school systems.
Morningside’s Sharon Walker School of Education also offers graduate-level endorsements for Iowa teachers, a variety of educational strands, online courses through educational partners, and two post-baccalaureate teacher education options – the Teacher Intern program and Special Education Certification Only program. Morningside’s Teacher Intern program is one of the only programs in the state that provides an opportunity for students with a bachelor’s degree in an endorsable area to become a middle or high school teacher in Iowa in two years or less. The Special Education Certification Only program is an Iowa-only licensure teacher preparation program that prepares students with a bachelor’s degree in a non-teaching field to become special education teachers.
